- Notes: Ernest Fiene, born in Germany, became a U.S. citizen in 1927. He studied art at the National Academy of Design under Leon Kroll and the Art Students League. He was a member of the Woodstock Artists Association and a Guggenheim Fellow in 1932. His work was exhibited at the Whitney Museum of Art annuals from 1923-1955.
