Michael B. Grogan
Founder & Chief Auctioneer
Michael began his career in the art auction business in 1978 at Sotheby’s New York. During the course of his ten years at Sotheby’s, Michael was Head of the Oriental Carpets Department, Director of Sotheby’s Arcade Auctions, and President of Sotheby’s Appraisal Company, and, most importantly, met his wife, Nancy. He left Sotheby’s as a Vice President of the firm in June of 1987 to establish Grogan & Company as Boston’s own auction house. Michael is a graduate of Boston College, where he majored in Art History. Michael can often be seen on the hit PBS television series Antiques Roadshow as a silver, Oriental carpets, and paintings expert. Michael and his wife Nancy live in Marion, Massachusetts with their Jack Russell Terrier, Moose.Contact Michael
Georgina C. Winthrop
President & Fine Art Director
Georgina joined Grogan & Company after graduating from Harvard University in May of 2014. At Harvard, she majored in History of Art and Architecture, minored in The Classics, and was a tour guide for the Harvard Art Museums. As Grogan & Company’s Fine Art Director, Georgina oversees the appraisal, research, and cataloguing of paintings, prints, photographs, and sculptures for auction. She has been an auctioneer for the firm since 2018 and, in her role as President, oversees company operations. She is USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) compliant through 2023. Georgina sits on the Steering Committee for the Museum Council at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts and is on the Board of Governors of Beacon Hill’s Nichols House Museum. A lifelong Beacon Hill resident, she recently moved to the North Shore, where she lives with her husband Robert and their English Cocker Spaniel, Bertie.Contact Georgina
Taylor P. See
Taylor joined Grogan & Company in the fall of 2015. She is a graduate of Texas Christian University, where she was a nationally ranked equestrian and a Division 1 athlete. She majored in Fashion Merchandising, in the process developing her passion for jewelry and luxury goods. Taylor holds numerous certifications in diamonds and colored stones from the Gemological Institute of America. As Jewelry Director, Taylor is responsible for the appraisal, research, and cataloging of all jewelry offered for sale at auction, while also overseeing the jewelry division of Grogan & Company’s appraisal department. She is USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) compliant through 2024. Taylor lives in Charlestown with her husband Malcolm, their son Turner, and their English Bulldog, Millie.Contact Taylor
Claudia E. Deeley
Claudia joined Grogan & Company in the spring of 2021, after graduating from Trinity College in Connecticut. While at Trinity, she majored in Political Science and History and played on the varsity field hockey team. As Grogan & Company’s Gallery Director, Claudia ensures that each auction runs smoothly, oversees daily gallery operations, and coordinates our appraisals division. She is USPAP compliant through 2024, and has completed coursework at the Gemological Institute of America. Though a Vermont native, Claudia knows the Boston area well through spending her summers on the North Shore and attending St. Mark’s School. She lives nearby the gallery in Beacon Hill with her rescue pup, Wally.Contact Claudia
Mimi joined Grogan & Company in the fall of 2022. She is a graduate of Tulane University, where she majored in Legal Studies and Management. As Auction Coordinator, Mimi handles the daily operations of the gallery, including the intake and management of property, and being the primary point of contact for buyer’s and consignors alike. Additionally, she oversees the company social media accounts and supports the appraisal department. As a lifelong Dedham, Massachusetts resident, Mimi is delighted to be back in the Boston area with her dog, Junebug.
Hercules graduated from Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire in 1981. He majored in History and Anthropology and has been working in the art and antiques field as an auctioneer, appraiser, and dealer since 1989, and has worked with Grogan & Company in numerous capacities since that time. As an Appraisal Consultant for Grogan & Company, Hercules works closely with estates, lawyers, and individuals in need of fair market value or insurance replacement value appraisals. He is a member of the New Hampshire Antique Dealers Association, and a Trustee of the Robert Frost Farm Museum. He resides in Derry, New Hampshire, with his wife and two dogs.Contact Hercules
Lucy Grogan Edwards
Jewelry Director Emeritus
Lucy joined her family’s business in 2013 upon returning to the east coast from Jackson, Wyoming. She is a graduate of Trinity College in Connecticut and the Gemological Institute of America. She can also be seen appraising jewelry on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow. In addition to her role at Grogan & Company, Lucy is the President of Maine Recovery Fund, an organization supporting individuals recovering from substance use disorder. Lucy lives in Portland, Maine with her husband and their son.
