Fine Art

Saturday, October 28, 2023

The fall fine art auction featured a well-curated selection of American art, European art, prints and multiples, and sculptures. The top lot of the day, a cast bronze tiger sculpture by Judy McKie, sold for $225,000, alongside another carved wood and glass work by McKie which sold for $43,750. Additional American art highlights included two works by John Singer Sargent, a modern, mixed media work from Joan Snyder, and an important collection of White Mountian School paintings. A collection of four oils by Tadashi Asoma broke auction records for the Japanese/American artist. To conclude the sale, works by Le Pho and Jean Dufy led the European art section. Overall, the auction achieved a 92% sell-through rate, with nearly 1/3 of all lots hammering beyond their estimate.
