RARE PERSIAN GARDEN CARPET


  • Provenance: Estate of Carrol Wales
  • Notes: Carroll Wales, a highly regarded art conservationist received his training in art and archeology at Harvard and Yale Universities. He spent most of his career touring the Mid- East with the late Constantine Tsaousis restoring precious Byzantine Frescoes, the most important of which was the Transfiguration Mosaic in the Monastery Church of St. Catherine in Sinai, Egypt.
  • Condition: Bottom 1/3 30%+ worn and 10% old restoration. Top 2/3 is in better condition; several worn areas, but mostly good; full pile...top left has worn area, 2 x 1 feet; ragged ends and selvage. Very dirty.
