- Notes: Note: Thought to be one of the world's greatest photographers, Philippe Halsman was known for photographing politicians, royalty and the famous for Life Magazine. In 1959, Philippe Halsman published a book containing 178 photographs depicting the most important and famous people of the time JUMPING. Although this photograph was not published in 'Philippe Halsman's Jump Book', Simon and Schuster Inc., NY, it reflects Halsmans fascination with 'jumpology', the discovery of ones inner most feelings and personality reflected in their expression and body position when they jump.
