Other Notes: Nicolas Petit (1732-1791) was a Parisian ebeniste from the second half of the 18th century. He received his master craftsman certificate in 1763 and opened a workshop on Rue Faubourg Saint-Antoine, under the sign "The Name of Jesus". He quickly became a reknowned furniture maker among the aristocracy in Paris at the time. Today his furniture is in public museums around the world, including The Musee des Arts decoratifs in Paris, the Wallace Collection in London and the Rothschild collection in Waddesdon Manor.
