KIYOSHI SAITO, (Japanese, 1907-1997), FOUR COLOR WOODCUTS, four woodblock prints in color;


  • Condition: Temple in Autumn examined out of frame: overall good condition, no tears, not laid down, margins, no inscriptions and not numbered or titled; Jikishi also examined out of frame, overall good, taped to back of mat, deckle edges remain;

    Remaining two have not been examined out of the frames. Assuming there is mat burn on all of these, as they have old acidic mats. Colors appear to be good, No tears, stains or foxmarks visible. Two show signature, titles and numbers in margin, one of t hese has a tiny crease, top edge; Two are framed with mats that cover margins. Label on verso of one lists 3 prints acquired by George Sullivan: Sanpo-in, Kiyemizu and Heryuji.
