  • Notes: Includes original Exhibition label from the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893. This painting hung in the North Corner of the Palace of Fine Arts. "Much admired are J. M. Stone's 'Leukopis' and 'A Summer Dream'...both figures are somewhat scantily draped, with flesh tints sufficiently pronounced, 'A Summer Dream', representing a brown-haired maiden lost in reverie, and in reclining posture, with eyes half closed and slightly parted lips, one hand resting on her bosom and the other holding in her lap a cluster of roses."
