Wilton Page, Aug. 1872"; Note: Lady Shirley, a famous beauty, was the subject described in one of Lord Chesterfield's poems by.."When Fanny Blooming fair..First caught my ravished sight.." Three portraits were known to have been painted of her, one as a young girl in Turkish Robe by Sir Godrey Kneller and two later portraits by Charles Jervis, pupil of Kneller. This portrait is most likely after one of Jervis's later portraits.
