GROUP LOT OF MISCELLANEOUS SILVER SPOONS, comprised of a small spoon, possibly by Paul Revere, monogrammed "AS"; four large serving spoons: one inscribed "Patience Bradford A.D. 1741", marked "WH"; two monogrammed "HH", marked "DN DOLE"; and one monogrammed "JW", marked "H"; and ten teaspoons: all monogrammed "HH", five marked "STERLING" and five marked "E.G.DOLE"; and a teaspoon marked "C.Bros.S,E.P.,A.I.,England"; (15 pieces total); Note: A letter from the Boston Atheneum compares one of the examples in this lot to an example attributed to Paul Revere currently at the Avery Memorial in Hartford, Connecticut. Further, the provenance of the spoon found in this lot, as noted in the letter, also came from the same collection of JP Morgan silver, the donor of the Avery Memorial example. This lot is being sold to benefit the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants.
