    Monday
    Dear Mrs. [Redacted],
I have just spoken with Mr. Elliott at the Reading Museum, asking him to please include your painting of mine "Girl in a Garden" in my one man show. As he had not heard from you he had given the space to another picture. However, I am most anxious to have your picture included in the show and he has made space available for it. If convenient for you my son could come with his truck to pick it up, so it could be ready April 13th to go with the other pictures from our New York home. I greatly appreciate your loaning us this picture, and [am] delighted to hear that you and your husband will be coming down for the opening. Please call me at your convenience anytime this week at 283-5152 or in New York after April 11th to make arrangements.
With many thanks and good wishes,
    Gloria Vanderbilt (Mrs. Wyatt Cooper)

    Dear Mrs. [Redacted],
Again I thank you for your generosity in lending us your painting for my museum show. I do wish you could have seen it. The museum [indistinct] and it was beautifully lit and placed. A great thrill for me to see it. Its still one of my favorite paintings. If you are puzzling over the placement of the signature - yes - I did resign it. It bothered me on the left where I had it before, Hope you approve! I hope you continue to enjoy it. Having it in the Reading Show added so much to the whole and I am so grateful.
    Sincerely,
    Gloria Vanderbilt
