GEORGE NELSON LIME GREEN BALL CLOCK, manufactured by Howard Miller Clock Company, Leeland, Michigan; diameter: 13 1/2 inches; Note: George Nelson, a Yale graduate with a degree in Architecture, authored "Tomorrow's House", which introduced the family room concept. In 1945, he became Herman Miller's design director, where he collaborated with other well known modernist designers like Ray and Charles Eames, Harry Bertoia, Richard Schultz, Donald Knorr and Isamu Noguchi. He is said to have been "without any doubt the most articulate and eloquent voice on design and architecture in the USA of the 20th century."
