CURRIER & IVES (American, 19th century) SET OF FOUR LITHOGRAPHS FROM THE SERIES, AMERICAN COUNTRY LIFE artist: Fanny Palmer, publisher: Nathaniel Currier, New York, circa 1855; hand colored lithographs; Including "Summers Morning", "Pleasures of Winter", "October Afternoon" and "May Morning"; large folio 16 3/4 x 23 7/8 inches; Condition: All four have good color. Summers Morning is trimmed to edge of image and just below the title. It has several tears, the most significant a 5" horizontal tear radiating from the right margin. Pleasures of Winter has a crase in l.c. and several surface scratches. Some discoloration and a tear, u.l. margin. October Afternoon has dicoloration in margins and 1 small rubbed mark in the tree trunk. May Morning has several surface scratches and vertical bands of discoloration. All four are framed similarly.
