CHRISTOPHER WREN (English, 1632-1723) RARE RECEIPT DOCUMENT BEARING ORIGINAL SIGNATURE dated "October 11th, 1712" and inscribed "Rec'd the Contents of Mrs. Debenture", signed "Chr. Wren" and "Witness Chal Browny"; framed: 5 x 9 inches; Note: Christopher Wren, a brilliant scientist and a graduate of Oxford University, was also known as a distinguished architect. He was appointed by Charles II to take charge of the rebuilding of London after the great fire in 1666. A few of his commissions included The Royal Exchange, St. Pauls Cathedral, Chelsea Hospital, the Royal Naval College and the Custom House. Condition: Some discoloration, l.r. Three folds and a small hole in the center.
