AMERICAN SILVER TANKARD, Benjamin Burt, Boston, maker, converted to a pitcher
with flame finial; monogrammed on handle EBS; height: 9 in.; weight: 28.4 ozt.

Other Notes: Benjamin Burt (1729-1805) had a long and prolific career as a goldsmith and silversmith in 18th century Boston. He apprenticed under his father, John Burt and after his death in 1745 under Samuel and William Burt.


  • Condition: We believe spout has been added; some small "ping" dents on lower half of tankard
