AMERICAN SCHOOL (18th century) PORTRAIT OF
- Notes: Note: Bears Brooklyn Museum of Art label on verso stretcher with artist as John Smibert and sitter as Hester Plaisted (Mrs. James Gooch), Museum acquired in 1927.
- Condition: framed: 42 1/2 x 34 1/2 inches;Original canvas trimmed and laid down on new canvas; overall craquelure arrested with lining and new varnish. U.V. - no large areas of in-paint visible, several small touch ups along edges and one small area above rose; no signature found.
