Other Notes: The Massachusetts clockmaker Joseph Gooding (1773-1853) was trained by the renowned clockmaker John Bailey II of Hanover. Starting his own business in 1793, Gooding worked in Dighton and Fall River. It is thought that Gooding made some 40 plus tall case clocks and numbered many on the dial. According to Delaney Antique Clocks of Townsend, Massachusetts, the highest number Gooding clock known is No. 38.
