Simon Willard Mahogany Inlaid Tall Case Clock, ca 1800
the painted moon phase dial signed Simon Willard, Roxbury; overall height: 92 in.

Provenance: The Bradshaw Family, Taunton, Massachusetts. Robert C. Eldred Auctioneers, 1961. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Crowell, South Dennis, Massachusetts, by descent to current owner.


  • Condition: Fret, feet, and finials all appear original; fretwork has some repaired breaks with original pieces; dial is original paint; case door has a small portion of the molding restored (top left corner across 2 1/2 in., down 5 1/2 in.); 2 1/2 in. loss to moulding at left base of bonnet (where it slides on and off); tight splits to base panel; rear left foot is loose but present; good old color to the case, probably old refinish; movement appears original and is presently working.
