Provenance: A Cotuit, Massachusetts Lady.

Other Notes: Volunteer was designed by Edward Brugess and built by Pusey & Jones Shipbuilding in 1887 for Charles J. Paine of the New York Yacht Club. Volunteer won the America's Cup that same year against Scottish cutter Thistle of the Royal Clyde Yacht Club.


  • Condition: Overall good condition; discoloration and minor paint loss at edges from frame.
