Provenance: By descent in a Private New England Collection.

Other Notes: Thomas Dawson, the Viscount and First Baron Cremorne, was born February 25, 1725 and died March 1, 1813. He was married to Philadelphia Hannah Freame, a granddaughter of William Penn. He was a great supporter of the arts, and was on Gilbert Stuart's list of patrons who had requested a copy of Stuart's famed portrait of George Washington.


  • Condition: Clear under UV examination; craquelure throughout, resulting in lifting and flaking in some areas.
