Chinese Export American Market Helmet Pitcher from the service of John Derby, Salem, Massachusetts, who carried word of Lexington and Concord to London

ca. 1786; depicting in sepia Minerva on a chariot, copied from an unknown engraving; bearing the monogram JD; decorated with gilt, brown, and blue grapevine border; sepia service is heretofore unrecorded; height: 5 1/2 in.
