Other Notes: Charles LeBrun's monumental painting, Entry of Alexander into Babylon, was painted ca. 1664 as part of a series of four ambitious paintings depicting episodes from the life of Alexander the Great. In 1664, Louis XIV (1638-1715) made LeBrun a titled Nobleman and appointed him First Painter to the King.
