Michael B. Grogan


President & Chief Auctioneer

Michael began his career in the art business in 1978 at Sotheby's, New York. During the course of his ten years at Sotheby's, Michael was Head of the Oriental Carpets Department, Director of Sotheby's Arcade Auctions and President of Sotheby's Appraisal Company.  He left Sotheby's as a Vice-President of the firm in June of 1987 to establish Grogan & Company.  Michael is a graduate of Boston College where he majored in Art History. 

Nancy Grogan

A graduate of the University of Vermont majoring in Art History, Nancy began her career at Sotheby's in New York in 1979 working in the Client Services Division. In 1983, she joined Edward Lee Cave, Inc. and Armin B. Allen, Inc. Nancy and Michael reside in Dedham and have three children.

Hercules Pappachristos


Appraisal Associate

 

Hercules is a 1981 graduate of Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire.  He majored in history and anthropology and has been working in the art and antiques field as an auctioneer, appraiser and dealer since 1989.  Hercules is currently an Independent Appraisal Consultant for Grogan & Company. He is a member of the New Hampshire Antique Dealers Association, a Trustee of the Robert Frost Farm Museum and resides in Derry, New Hampshire.

Allyson K. Lee


Fine Art/Marketing

 

Allyson joined Grogan & Company in 1989 to create an in-house advertising and marketing department. Responsible for the photography and print production of the catalogues and advertising campaigns, she also began working with the Fine Arts Department as a cataloguer and Fine Arts Assistant in 1997.  Allyson holds a Master of Arts Degree in Fine Art from Eastern Illinois University and an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design from Salem State College.

 

Janet A. Holmes


Gallery Administration

 

Janet is the newest member of the Grogan and Company team. She came on board in 2006 after a career as the business office manager with a local non-profit organization.  Her responsibilities at the gallery include appraisal preparation, customer service, and shipping. Janet has a BS in Education from Northeastern University and is a long time Dedham resident.  She is an active member of the Dedham Junior Woman's Club and a Town Meeting Representative.
