ABSENTEE AND TELEPHONE BIDDING POLICY
Grogan & Company offers Absentee and Telephone Bidding as a courtesy to our clients and will not be held responsible for any errors or failures to execute bids.
If you are unable to attend the auction Grogan & Company will accept an Absentee Bid or a Telephone Bid Request.
Absentee Bids may be left while perusing our catalog once you register. Each bid is electronically recorded by the date and time they are received and a confirmation email is sent to you. Once received by our gallery, all bids are handled in a confidential and professional manner.
Telephone Bids are reserved for clients who wish to bid over the pre-sale low estimate. Due to a limited number of available phone lines, telephone requests will only be accepted for lots with a low estimate of $500 or greater. We recommend that clients who are bidding by telephone, leave a back up bid to be executed in the event phone contact is not made. To arrange to Telephone Bid, you may print this Bid request form (pdf format) and fax it to our office at 781-461-9625 or call the gallery at 781-461-9500.
We ask that all Absentee and Telephone Bids be received at least one hour before the start of the auction. Waiting until the last minute creates confusion and a higher incidence of failure to execute bids.
All bids are subject to our Terms and Conditions of Sale. Please read these before placing your bids. Please note that a buyer’s premium of 15% will be added to the hammer price as part of the total purchase price.
Live Internet Bidding while the auction is in progress is available through Artfact Live. Clients choosing this option should go directly to the Artfact.com website to pre-register. Please note, when using this service, Grogan & Company is not responsible for any errors that may occur during bidding with this service. Please note that the buyers premium will be 18% for live bidders. (3% fee goes to Artfact Live).
